A Few of Our Favorite Things: Accessory

The goal: Add just the right finishing touch
The results: Accessories to make Carrie Bradshaw weep
Amanda’s Pick:
The Stats: The Butler Bag, $75 and up

Why: Because I hate digging in my purse, and it seems the most important things (keys, cell phone) fall straight to the bottom.
The Story:I bought my first Butler Bag on a whim. I used it as a diaper bag when my daughter was a baby. It worked great for that. I use it every time I travel, especially when I travel by plane. Everything has a place.
The Pros: There’s plenty room for a spare diaper, some wipes, first-aid kit, lip balm, sunglasses, a legal pad, my wallet, pens, keys, tampons, a bottle of water, and more.
The Cons: They are pricey. I find the strap a little too short. I like to be able to put my bag on my shoulder, and this one is not really designed for that. The Hybrid model that I got is large, and I don’t always want a huge handbag shorter jaunts (like a trip the grocery store). This bag has spoiled me. Other purses just don’t make me as happy.
One last thing: If you’re interested in one of these bags, keep an eye on the Butler Bag website. I scored mine for half price during a sample sale.
Whitney’s Pick:
The Stats: A women’s digital wristwatch with stopwatch function (starting at $10.00, most online and local retailers)
Why: A digital, waterproof watch with a stopwatch function is a great workout investment.
The Story: I like to workout, but when I get in the zone, I forget about the time. I love having a watch that I can wear in the pool or on the jogging trail.
The Pros: My watch was fairly inexpensive, it’s comfortable, and it keeps me on track when I work out.
The Cons: I prefer a more “Carrie Bradshaw” approved watch for everyday wear, so I only wear this one for working out.
One last thing: I’m considering buying a more expensive watch that tracks more workout information. Do you have any to recommend?

I love my Polar watch – it tracks a week’s worth of workouts and comes with a chest strap so you know your heart rate and how many calories you burned. Plus, it’s pink, which, awesome.

Awesome! Where did you get it?
