The goal: Get clean without a lot of fuss
The results: Soft skin that’s clean
Amanda’s Pick:
The Stats: Dove Sensitive Skin Unscented Beauty Bar, available at almost any store that carries soap, $3 for a 2-pack

Why: Dove cleans gently, moisturizes mildly, and is hypoallergenic.
The Story: Like with most things, I should have listened to my Momma. She’s been using Dove for years. But, I spent lots of time and money cycling through many different body washes/soaps/cleansers. At the recommendation of my dermatologist, I tried this Dove bar and soon invested in the bulk pack.
The Pros: I can use it on my face as well as my body. It’s cheap. I can use it on my kids. It doesn’t smell weird. It’s fragrance-free.
The Cons: It’s not all-natural. (However, for a mainstream product, it does get a decent score on the Good Guide.)
One last thing: Dove is so soft, it can double as a shaving cream.
Whitney’s Pick:
The Stats: Dove Sensitive Skin Unscented Beauty Bar, available at almost any store that carries soap, $3 for a 2-pack
Why: I love what it does for my skin.
The Story: In the past, I used different soaps, but I never found a favorite. When my dermatologist recommended Dove, I bought a bar and have never turned back.
The Pros: Besides the fact my dermatologist recommended it, my skin feels so revitalized after I use it.
The Cons: Traveling with bar soap is never as neat and tidy to me as taking a small bottle of body wash.
One last thing: Ask your dermatologist what he or she recommends. Besides learning about Dove, my doctor has made some great recommendations for lotion and sunscreen.
